The project is led by an internationally recruited Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) and obtains technical inputs from a number of international FAO staff and consultants in the fields of organization, community development, rural credit, policy and planning, legal issues, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), micro-biology, physical environment assessment and project monitoring, over the course of the project. A National Project Director is assisting the CTA in the daily management of the project. Other full-time staff are a Japanese APO, an administrator, a secretary, watchmen, drivers, an accountant, interpreters and several local technical support staff.
Moreover, national consultants support the project for some 28 months in the fields of aquaculture development, artisanal fisheries, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRAs), biocenotic mapping, aquatic resource assessment, and other relevant issues.
The project office is located in Hue City. The project is structured in three operational units, named based on their duties and specific tasks, as the Natural Resources Unit (NRU), Socio-Economic Unit (SEU) and Training Unit (TU).
